Sew Totally Rad

Sewing can be such a unique and beautiful Art. One of my favorite activities has been creating, not to mention hand-stitching, fabric necklaces. There is something amazing about being able to take fabric, scissors, thread, needles, ribbon, felt, & vintage buttons, and combine them into an outstanding piece in only a few hours time. And you can't use a sewing machine to do that!! Today I was inspired by the captivating aqua blues and how the different hues of them coordinated wonderfully with the pearly and gold vintage buttons. To see more of my original work, take a peek under the "Handmade by Me" tab at the top of the page. Today I am a Sea Bird.

Oh, the Joys of Vintage Nesting!

I want to share my latest Vintage finds with those bird-watching. I'm slowly building the timeless, old, antique world around me that I feel so comfortable in. Somewhere I belong that this time period doesn't always satisfy. I obtain these items all over the place. Sometimes early morning garage sales, thrift stores, or estate sales. There is just something different about the feel of an old piece, adding it to the collection is so wonderful. The joys of vintage nesting.

Some of my favorite outfits!

The Bird's Eye View

As the bird I'd like to start by welcoming you into my nest. I hope to show you the world through my eyes, by including many photos throughout my posts (all will be original photography by me, some digital some analog). I have a deep seeded love for all forms and mediums of the art world and wish to use this blog to express and share the art gems I come across in my life. Some will be made by me, some by others. Some old, some new. Some Vintage. The driving force behind this is that I am one of many in the world that is so-to-speak living out of place in time. I have a vintage heart and way of life. Follow the music of your life. What makes you flow. I am not all-knowing, I just have so much love and excitement to share.
